2023-2024 Chat N Chew

  

Do you have a 3rd, 4th or 5th grade student?
 
Did you know SRE PTO offers an in school book club during lunch called Chat N Chew??
 
Chat & Chew is a voluntary reading program for SRE students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. The program is designed to encourage a love of reading – it is like a book club for kids! Participating students read three grade-level appropriate books and meet in small groups during lunch to discuss each book. Parent volunteers serve as discussion leaders.
 
Chat & Chew groups will meet during lunchtime on 3 different Fridays throughout the year. October 20th to discuss the first book, February 23th to discuss the second book and May 3rd for the 3rd book. Participating students should bring a sack lunch from home on these days. (Note: Please avoid sending peanut butter and other nut products in lunches.)

Families are responsible for ordering (or checking-out) the books for Chat & Chew. The school library has a few copies of each book. Other options include the Johnson County library, Scholastic ordering, Amazon or bookstores.
